PUP proudly presents the fourth exhibition in collaboration with Furthur Labelz at Hotel Arena on Saturday the 6th of April 2013.
GROWING BETWEEN SPACES is the title of this Furthur Labelz group exhibition, representing international artists of multiple disciplines. All the works interpret and investigate the themes of space, time, distance and growth; themes, which are both big as they are small, and layered as they are empty: just as life itself. Placed in the setting of a hotel - which is both a temporal home and an anonymous space; a transitional space between being far away and back home - Furthur Labelz plays with the notion of moving between spaces and what the gap between those spaces can mean. Is it an empty space? Is it filled with light and laughter, or with darkness and regret? Do the temporary beds hold dreams or nightmares? Does the desire for adventure dominate, or is it the longing for a place called home? When confronting the artists with questions about their work in this setting, it seems that we are often between spaces, growing, and that at that moment both sides of the coin exist most strongly. Most of all, “Growing Between Spaces” is being in a state of movement. Yes, we are somewhere, but we're already halfway gone, reaching for what lies ahead.
